Traffic on Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco will be altered this Friday night (13)
Partial closures will be necessary to facilitate the progress of the Nova Doca works, which are part of the legacy of COP30
The traffic on Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, in the Reduto neighborhood of Belém, will be altered this Friday night (13), from 7 PM to 5 AM, for the advancement of the asphalt paving works of Nova Doca. The investments are part of the legacies of the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30), which will be held in the capital of Pará in November of this year.
To ensure the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers in the area, partial closure will be necessary, blocking one lane in the following sections:
– Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, between Avenidas Pedro Álvares Cabral and Marechal Hermes; and
– Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, between Avenida Senador Lemos and Rua Jerônimo Pimentel.
During the closure period, the State Department of Public Works (Seop) advises drivers to use alternative routes.
Nova Doca - The work is already 82% completed, with interventions in the eight modules along the road. The Government of Pará has already removed the barriers from blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Linear Park, which is receiving finishing works, landscaping, and installation of public equipment. The areas have also been planted with trees and new asphalt.
Nova Doca – a partnership between the Government of Pará and the Federal Government, through Itaipu Binacional – involves 1.2 kilometers of canal, with drainage, urbanization, and construction of walkways, in addition to the replacement of the sluices for tide control to prevent flooding.
