This Saturday, 14, the Amazônia Jazz Band presents a dance concert filled with national and international hits, starting at 7 PM, at the Usina da Paz in Castanhal, a municipality in northeastern Pará. The concert will be conducted by maestro Eduardo Lima, and the event is free of charge.

The initiative is from the Government of Pará, through the state secretariats of Culture (Secult) and Citizenship Articulation (Seac), Theatro da Paz, and the Paraense Academy of Music (APM), and is part of the Sons da Paz Program, which reaffirms the Government of Pará's commitment to democratizing access to culture, as well as promoting the circulation of the artistic bodies of Theatro da Paz and bringing them closer to the public. The show is sponsored by the Vale Cultural Institute, via the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture.

The repertoire features classics and hits from international, national, and regional music. Maestro Eduardo Lima promises a danceable show. “On this day we will play great classics of world, Brazilian, and regional music with a lot of cumbia, merengue, and lambada. We will end the show with ‘Voando pro Pará’, with the arrangement by our guitarist Kim Freitas, made exclusively for Amazônia Jazz Band.”

Among the songs presented are “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton; “Dançando no Rio” by Trio Manari and Adelbert Carneiro, with arrangement by Jonas Hocherman. In addition to a sequence of cumbia and merengue with the classics “Chorando Se Foi” by Banda Kaoma; “Sem Você Nada É Bonito” by Pinduca; “12 Horas Sem Te Ver” also by Pinduca; “Cuisse La” by Les Aiglons; “Solo de Craque” by Aldo Sena and “Rencontre” by Eric Brou.
