In Pará, consumers use Menor Preço Brasil to save on purchases
Free tool allows consumers to compare prices in real time

Pará is one of the states that use the Menor Preço Brasil app, a platform that collects information from invoices issued by over 30,000 commercial establishments. The app allows consumers to check, in real time, the prices practiced by local retailers, based on the electronic tax documents issued daily.
Available for free for Android and iOS mobile devices, the app is an initiative of the Finance Department of Rio Grande do Sul, which was supported by the National Council of Tax Policy and has been used by almost all Brazilian states since 2019.
The tool accesses information from Electronic Invoices (NF-e) and Electronic Consumer Invoices (NFC-e), allowing citizens to find the lowest prices for various products such as food, medicines, and fuels, in establishments close to their location.
According to the Secretary of Finance of Pará, René Sousa Júnior, joining the program offers a dual benefit: consumers can shop economically, and the state strengthens its tax collection due to the issuance of invoices.

“Pará has joined the Confaz agreement and the app is available, allowing users to search for product prices in about 30,000 commercial establishments that issue electronic invoices in Pará,” informs the head of the state finance department.
The Menor Preço app helps citizens shop better. “Through consultations to Electronic Invoices (NF-e) and Electronic Consumer Invoices (NFC-e), prices are updated as soon as the invoice is issued, and the product price is loaded into Menor Preço Brasil, making it accessible for consumer consultation,” explains the head of Sefa.
The consultation is simple: the user downloads the “Menor Preço Brasil” app from the app store, logs in with their Gov.br account, and searches by typing the name or brand of the desired product. It is also possible to scan the item's barcode for a more precise search. The system presents a list of practiced prices and the location of stores, also indicating routes to the chosen establishment.
In addition to the economic advantage, the tool strengthens fiscal citizenship. “The more consumers request invoices, the more options the app will have to offer. In other words, requesting an invoice helps the population buy cheaper. This benefit comes at no cost to the consumer, who accesses the app for free via the internet,” states René Sousa.
With the adoption of Menor Preço Brasil, Pará takes another step towards modernizing public services and promoting conscious consumption. The app has established itself as an ally of the Brazilian wallet.
