Sefa seizes 2,200 kilograms of chocolate in Dom Eliseu
The product, distributed in 210 boxes, was valued at R$ 104,765.16

State tax inspectors from the Pará State Department of Finance (Sefa), stationed at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Itinga, in the municipality of Dom Eliseu, northeast of the state, seized, on June 11, a load of 2,200 kilograms of semi-sweet chocolate that was being transported irregularly. The product, distributed in 210 boxes, was valued at R$ 104,765.16.

The load originated from the municipality of Santa Izabel do Pará and was destined for Extrema, in Minas Gerais. However, during the approach by the tax team, an irregularity was found in the documentation presented by the driver.
“During the inspection process, it was confirmed that the invoice presented covered an entry operation of the goods into the state. However, the driver was leaving the state with the load, without the required tax documents for the operation,” explained the coordinator of the tax unit, Rafael Brasil.
In light of the irregularity, a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued in the amount of R$ 22,629.28, corresponding to the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) due and the applied fine.
The seizure is part of the ongoing work of the Department of Finance in combating tax evasion and the irregular transport of goods, fundamental actions to ensure state revenue and tax justice.
