Civil Police of Pará arrests leader of criminal faction in São João de Pirabas
The suspect was wanted by the Justice of the State of Bahia and is charged with drug trafficking, use of false documents, and criminal association
On this Thursday (12), the Civil Police of Pará, through the Delegacy of Repression to Thefts and Robberies of Motor Vehicles (DRFRVA), a unit linked to the Division of Repression to Organized Crime (DRCO), executed an arrest warrant against a leader of a criminal faction and a flagrant arrest against an individual for illegal possession of a firearm in São João de Pirabas. The operation was supported by the Coordination of Operations and Special Resources (CORE) and the Delegacy of São João de Pirabas.
"Initially, the police teams were called to execute an arrest warrant against a man, suspected of leading a criminal faction from Bahia, in the city of São João de Pirabas. According to the investigations, the individual was wanted by the Justice of Bahia and was supposedly hiding in the municipality of Pará. Upon learning of the information, the teams began the diligences in order to effect the arrest of the investigated,” explains the head of the DRCO, delegate Juliano Côrrea.
From the investigations, the PC identified that the suspect was using false documents with two different names, with the intention of establishing the actions of the criminal organization in regions such as Salinas, Pirabas, and other municipalities.
Continuing the searches, the police teams managed to locate and arrest the individual, as well as seized from him a firearm of the shotgun type caliber 22, several portions of material similar to marijuana and cocaine, a precision scale, accounting notes related to drug trafficking, rolling papers, and a vehicle. In the car, a certain amount of substance similar to marijuana was also found.
The investigated was arrested and taken along with all the materials to the police unit for the necessary procedures. During the action, a 9mm caliber pistol was also found in the possession of another individual, who was also charged and sent to the Civil Police Delegacy for the execution of the appropriate measures. The firearm was seized and presented to the on-duty police authority.
The individuals will respond for the criminal practices of illegal possession of a firearm, drug trafficking, use of false documents, and criminal association.
The Civil Police of Pará continues the investigations in order to ascertain all the information regarding the crime and emphasizes the importance of reports about the occurrence of criminal practices, such as drug trafficking, criminal association, among others.
