The ceremony highlighted the importance of the Corregedoria in institutional strengthening and the promotion of discipline and integrity within the Corporation

The Military Police of Pará (PMPA) held a ceremony on the morning of this Wednesday (10) at the auditorium of the Corregedoria-Geral in Belém to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the Corregedoria-Geral of PMPA. The event was marked by tributes and institutional recognitions, gathering civil and military authorities, and was presided over by the commander-general of the Corporation, Colonel Dilson Júnior.
The honor table included the Chief of the General Staff, Colonel Ariel; the Corregedor-geral of PMPA, Colonel Tabaranã; the Chief of the General Administration Department, Colonel Saraiva; and the President of the Public Security Commission of OAB Pará, Dr. Ivanildo Ferreira Alves. The ceremony reinforced the relevance of the Corregedoria for strengthening ethics, discipline, and transparency within the military institution.
In his speech, the commander-general of PMPA highlighted the fundamental role of the Corregedoria in the institutional evolution process of the Corporation. “The Corregedoria represents the institutional and legal evolution of our Military Police, always aligned with the most modern principles of Law. We are very proud of this trajectory. Today, as we celebrate the 32 years of the Corregedoria-Geral, we renew our commitment to further strengthen this essential structure, which operates with integrity and total compliance with the legal framework of our Bicentennial Institution,” he stated.

During the event, military personnel from the unit were awarded personal merit accolades in recognition of their exemplary performance in the exercise of their functions. The honorees were distinguished for their professionalism, commitment, and dedication, values that directly contribute to the efficiency and credibility of PMPA's institutional actions.
Created in 1993, through Ordinance No. 010/93-GAB.CMDO, signed by then-commander-general Colonel Cleto José Bastos da Fonseca, the Corregedoria began as the Coordination of Military Police Investigation and Correction. In 2006, with the promulgation of Complementary Law No. 053/06, it officially became part of the structure of the Command-General of PMPA, consolidating its role in the administrative and disciplinary scope.

Among its main responsibilities are the guidance, prevention, and oversight of functional activities, as well as the promotion of institutional values among the personnel. Working in network with social defense agencies and the community, the Corregedoria-Geral has become an essential instrument to strengthen society's trust in the work of PMPA.
The Corregedor-geral of PMPA, Colonel Tabaranã, also highlighted the strategic role of the unit today. “We have been working tirelessly to strengthen discipline and ethics within our Institution. The Corregedoria has been fundamental in ensuring that the Military Police of Pará continues to be a respected and trustworthy organization in the eyes of society. We will continue to guide our actions with integrity and professionalism, promoting respect, honor, and credibility of our Corporation,” he concluded.
