Treasury Department seizes nearly R$ 2 million in goods in the Amazon River
A total of 584 automotive tires without tax documentation, an ATV, and a backhoe, among other parts and equipment, were seized.

During an integrated inspection carried out by the Treasury Department of Pará (Sefa), the Federal Revenue of Brazil, the Military Police of the State, and the Brazilian Navy, at the Integrated Base Candiru, on the Amazon River, in Óbidos, state tax inspectors from Sefa seized irregular goods valued at R$1,937,144.52. The seizure occurred on Monday (9), when the vessel coming from Manaus (AM) was headed to Itaituba, in the southwest of Pará.
“The vessel left Manaus on Saturday (7) and was monitored from its departure until the approach, which took place in the early hours of Monday, the 9th. During the inspection, several tax and documentary irregularities were identified, resulting in the issuance of 17 Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs), totaling R$ 458,523.37.

Some of the seized goods: 584 automotive tires without tax documentation. As it is an imported product, the Federal Revenue of Brazil retained the goods, valued at R$ 500,000; a backhoe, with an invoice issued from Manaus to Manaus. Since the destination was Itaituba-PA, the invoice was disregarded, and the differential ICMS rate (Difal) was charged. Value of the asset: R$ 835,000.00; 533 m² of metal sheets, intended for an individual, valued at R$ 180,204.60; three aluminum vessels, with invoices intended for Itaituba, for final consumers without the collection of the differential ICMS rates, valued at R$ 50,700.00; an ATV, with an internal invoice from Manaus to Manaus, but intended for a final consumer in another state. The Difal was charged. Value of the asset: R$ 54,197.00; 11 motorcycles of various models, intended for individuals from the state of Amazonas, valued at R$ 418,048.00; a new motor vehicle, intended for a legal entity from Manaus, but without plates and with a final destination in Itaituba-PA. Value of the goods: R$ 140,800.86.

Hospital equipment - At the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Carajás, from the State Treasury Department (Sefa) located in the southeast of the State, 24 units of hospital equipment were seized on 06/10, valued at R$ 51,255.78.
The seizure occurred at the São Geraldo do Araguaia tax post when a vehicle transporting goods from São Paulo-SP to Marabá-PA was approached.
“After the document analysis, it was found that the taxpayer failed to correctly collect the ICMS related to the Differential ICMS Rate (DIFAL), collecting less than required, which is due to the difference between internal and interstate rates, intended for final consumers,” said coordinator Cicinato Oliveira.
The vehicle was transporting hospital equipment, including hospital beds, reclining chairs, medication carts, triple screens, oximeters, and cushions. The goods were seized, and a Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued, including ICMS and fines, totaling R$ 9,249.62. The Term was paid, and the goods were released.
