PC arrests 7 suspects for extortion, kidnapping, and robbery in Pará and other regions of the country
Operation took place in the regions of Belém, Ananindeua, and Benevides in Pará, as well as in Porto Alegre (RS), São Sebastião (DF), and Rio de Janeiro (RJ)

On this Tuesday (10), the Civil Police of Pará, through the Delegacy of Repression to Bank Robberies and Anti-Kidnapping (DRRBA), a unit linked to the Division of Repression to Organized Crime (DRCO), launched the operation "Forquilha" which resulted in the execution of search and seizure warrants and preventive arrests, as well as an arrest in flagrante for drug trafficking. The operation took place in the regions of Belém, Ananindeua, and Benevides in Pará, as well as in Porto Alegre (RS), São Sebastião (DF), and Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
According to the Civil Police of Pará, the operation "Forquilha" was developed with the aim of reinforcing the integration of security forces to combat organized crime and other criminal practices in various areas of Brazil. The search and seizure warrants and preventive arrests were issued by the 3rd Criminal Court of Ananindeua, in Pará.

Understand the case - On January 9, 2024, about three criminals, using a red vehicle, kidnapped a businessman who lived in the Icuí neighborhood in Ananindeua. During the crime, the individuals demanded a payment of R$ 200,000 from the victim for his release.
“From this case, the Civil Police teams began investigations and diligences with the aim of identifying, locating, and arresting all those involved in the crime. During the incident, the victim was rescued, found in a hideout in Benevides, after being held hostage for 12 hours. In addition, the police managed to identify and locate seven people involved in the criminal practice,” explained the head of the DRCO, delegate Juliano Côrrea.

Initially, four preventive arrests were made in Pará: in the regions of Belém, Ananindeua, and Benevides. Subsequently, three more arrests were made in the areas of São Sebastião, in Brasília (DF); in Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul; and in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). At the residence of one of the suspects, a certain amount of drugs was found, at which point he was arrested in flagrante for drug trafficking.

"The suspect who was located and arrested in Rio de Janeiro was already under investigation for leading the group of criminals. He was imprisoned and held at the Bangu prison, where the execution of the preventive arrest warrant was formalized. At the addresses where the search warrants were executed, cell phones and other objects were found and seized. The individuals were arrested and will respond for being part of an armed criminal association responsible for the crimes of extortion through kidnapping and aggravated robbery," said the head of the DRRBA, delegate Felipe Castro.
The action was supported by the personnel from the Delegacy of Repression to Robberies and Thefts of Motor Vehicles (DRFRVA), the Delegacy of Repression to Criminal Factions (DRFC), the River Police Station (DPFLU), belonging to the Civil Police of Pará, as well as the 1st Delegacy of Repression to Robberies and Anti-Kidnapping (DEIC), from the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul, the Division of Repression to Kidnappings (CORPATRI), from the Civil Police of the Federal District, and the Penal Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
