The course was conducted by ANS for Procon Pará staff

The Consumer Protection and Defense Directorate of Pará (Procon Pará), linked to the State Secretariat of Justice (Seju), participated this Friday (06), in Belém, in a training course conducted by the National Agency of Supplementary Health (ANS). This action is part of the "ANS with You" program, which promotes the exchange of technical knowledge related to the health plan sector, aiming to enhance the integration between agencies for the benefit of consumers.

Flávia de Jesus, customer service coordinator of Procon Pará

The customer service coordinator of Procon Pará, Flávia de Jesus, emphasized the importance of training for a more effective performance of the agency, especially in the service work to differentiate the types of demands presented by users. "With this training, the service can identify whether the problem is a consumer rights issue or if it is a labor or social security issue, for example. If that is the case, the user can be guided to seek resolution at the competent institution, such as ANS itself."

Participants in the meeting discussed topics such as the structure of ANS, legislation regarding health plans, mandatory clauses in new contracts, coverage, portability, price adjustments, as well as reinforcing the importance of consulting the updated records of ANS and the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) in cases involving the coverage of medical procedures and medications.

For Uender Xavier, head of ANS in the northern region, the event strengthens the relationship between agencies and service delivery. "The idea is to discuss cases that Procon is experiencing, the doubts, possible resolutions, knowing what the legislation says, what the prerogative of medical professionals is, among other things, and thus improve the performance for the benefit of health plan users."
