As part of the activities for Environment Week, the Environmental Police Battalion (BPA) held, this Monday (3), the third edition of the Environmental Blitz on Avenida João Paulo II in Belém. This year's action had a significant difference: the active participation of students from the PMzito BPA social project, which works on environmental education with children and adolescents.

Throughout the program, the young people had the opportunity to engage with the public about the importance of environmental preservation, plant seedlings around the battalion, and distribute native species as a form of awareness and encouragement for urban greening.

For 13-year-old student Ane Jamilly, a resident of the Pedreira neighborhood, the experience was transformative. "This is a unique experience. We are going to plant, and we will remember what we did. For me, it is very important to understand the environment. I am learning more, and I feel happy about it. I am creating environmental awareness, learning to take care of nature," she reported.

The commander of the BPA, Lieutenant Colonel Jeremias Moura, highlighted the pedagogical impact of the activity. "Our goal is to awaken in children and adults the responsibility to care for the environment. Their presence at the Blitz is not just symbolic; it is educational and transforms the way they see nature and the city they live in."

In addition to the distribution of seedlings, the Blitz promoted direct interaction between students and drivers and pedestrians passing through the avenue. The action reinforced the message that environmental preservation is a collective commitment that begins with the awareness of each citizen.

The Environmental Police Battalion's mission is to protect the environment, acting in the oversight of environmental crimes, preserving natural resources, and combating illegal activities that threaten the state's fauna, flora, and ecosystems. Beyond repressive actions, the BPA maintains educational initiatives like PMzito BPA, seeking to strengthen the population's connection with nature and promote a culture of respect and care for the planet.
