Usina da Paz celebrates 3 years of social transformation and citizenship in Canaã dos Carajás
A reference in serving the local community, the Usina da Paz in Canaã dos Carajás celebrates 3 years since its foundation with over 950 thousand services provided.

Three years ago, the municipality of Canaã dos Carajás, in the southeastern region of Pará, received its first Usina da Paz (UsiPaz), the sixth unit delivered in the state. Inaugurated on June 4, 2022, the citizenship complex has established itself as a reference in serving the local population, with over 950 thousand services provided since then.
Located in the Ouro Preto neighborhood, UsiPaz Canaã dos Carajás offers more than 70 free services, including medical and dental care, digital inclusion rooms, sports courts, a swimming pool, a library, document issuance, as well as spaces dedicated to professional qualification and cultural activities.

The services have directly impacted the lives of hundreds of residents, such as Valdo Menezes, who found a new perspective for livelihood at the Usina. "I have taken several cooking courses at the Usina da Paz, and they have brought me professionalism, learning, and also many friendships. The Usina has helped me grow a lot in terms of professionalism and also in dynamics. Qualities that have added to my resume and my livelihood as well," he reported.
Another example is Elen Cris Batista, a resident of the city, who also had her life transformed by the opportunities offered. "I speak of the Usina da Paz with great joy and satisfaction. I love the gastronomy part and have also greatly benefited from health services, where I was able to have follow-ups with a psychologist. The Usina is a very important space for all of us who live in Canaã dos Carajás," she declared.

Social transformation and reduction of violence
Since its inauguration, UsiPaz has promoted a true social transformation in Canaã dos Carajás, with direct reflections on public safety. According to data from the State Secretariat of Public Security (Segup), the project has been fundamental in combating violence in the municipality.
Between January and June 2025, the number of intentional lethal violent crimes (CVLI) showed a decrease of almost 53% compared to the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, cases of disturbance of peace recorded a 25% reduction in comparison.
Special anniversary program
To celebrate the third year of operation, UsiPaz Canaã dos Carajás will hold a special program this Wednesday (4), featuring cultural and sports attractions, as well as health, citizenship, and leisure services open to the entire community. Activities will begin at 1 PM.
The State Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, Elieth Braga, highlighted the importance of the date and the impact of the project.
"This is a moment of great celebration for all of us. The three years of Usina da Paz in Canaã dos Carajás represent transformed lives, realized dreams, and a community that has found new opportunities to grow with dignity. Seeing this structure functioning, welcoming children, youth, adults, and the elderly, with education, sports, culture, health, and citizenship, is a source of great pride and motivation for us to continue working on this important project," she stated.
