On this Wednesday, June 4th, the Amazônia Jazz Band will perform at the XXXVII International Music Festival of Pará (FIMUPA), starting at 8 PM, at Theatro da Paz, under the direction of guest conductor Barry Ford.

The International Music Festival of Pará has been held for 37 years and aims to provide an exchange of experiences among musicians from various states in Brazil and around the world. The 2025 edition features 17 concerts with the participation of musicians from various locations and artistic groups from the Carlos Gomes Institute.

The concert repertoire combines American jazz with Brazilian songs, such as Carinhoso, by Pixinguinha and João de Barros, and “Chega de Saudade,” by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes. For conductor Barry Ford, it is an opportunity to present his experiences throughout his career. “The idea is to reflect my experiences as a principal conductor. I am super happy to present this mix here,” he details.

“The concert of the Amazônia Jazz Band is one of the most anticipated at the Festival, so the expectation is for a large audience, a lot of energy inside Theatro, and you can expect a great show,” Ford concludes.

Tickets cost R$ 2 and can be purchased starting at 9 AM on June 4th through the Ticket Fácil website (www.tickefacil.com.br) and at the box office of Theatro da Paz, limited to two units per person.

The show is sponsored by the Government of Pará with support from the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult) and major sponsorship from the Vale Cultural Institute, via the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture.
