The event will feature an exhibition with various products that use açaí as a base and the presentation of technologies to improve the handling of the fruit

To mark the arrival of the açaí harvest, promote the genuinely Pará culture, and stimulate the economy surrounding the fruit, the third edition of the International Açaí Pará Festival – COP 30 Edition will be held. The organization is by the Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fishing (Sedap), through the Directorate of Fairs and Markets (DFM). The event will take place on the 12th, 13th, and 14th.
The first day of programming will be marked by the traditional "avuado" (a typical dish from Pará, made with fried fish and açaí), at the Açaí Port. On the other days, the event will take place at the Hangar Convention Center.

As Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fishing, Giovanni Queiroz, reminded, Pará is responsible for more than 90% of the açaí produced throughout the national territory. "It is only fair, then, that we hold this traditional event, which has already become part of the state calendar," he emphasized.
The program will feature an exhibition of a variety of products that use açaí as a base or accompaniment, such as sweets and jams. There will also be tastings of açaí produced by the municipalities of the state. Additionally, there will be a specific space for training sessions, where participants can receive guidance on best practices in handling the product.

Technology- Among the activities already scheduled for the Açaí Pará Festival, as reported by the Sedap manager, is the presentation of a technology developed to facilitate the collection of the fruit. This Monday (2), the secretary, accompanied by the DFM team, visited the company Açaí Kaa, located in the industrial district of Icoaraci. The team was welcomed by the owner and CEO of the enterprise, Reinaldo Pinto dos Santos.
The company has developed technological processes in the açaí production chain, as well as advanced research on the quality of products derived from the fruit, as highlighted by the secretary.

"The State Government, through Sedap, on behalf of Governor Helder Barbalho, seeks to encourage socio-economically correct productions; during the festival, these innovations will be appreciated by the public, along with numerous derivatives of our açaí," said Secretary Giovanni Queiroz.
The director of fairs and markets at Sedap, Manoel Rendeiro, who was part of the secretary's delegation to the company, said that during the visits the institution's team has made to the company, it has been noted that the evolution in innovative initiatives has been constant.
“We are pleased to see that all our projects that we have managed to implement together are being carried out, and the novelty comes in the third açaí festival, which will be held from June 12 to 14; we can guarantee that the public will be impressed in terms of technology for açaí handling,” assured the director.
Production- According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Pará produces more than 93% of açaí in Brazil. The annual average production is nearly 1 million and 600 thousand tons of the fruit.
