HRPM promotes training in orthopedic immobilization in Marajó
In addition to improving care practices, the initiative also promoted the exchange of knowledge and experiences among professionals working in the archipelago

To expand access to health in the 8th Regional Health Center (CRS), the administration of the Regional Public Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), located in the municipality of Breves, invited throughout the month of May the orthopedic immobilization teams from the municipalities in the region to participate in technical experiences in the immobilization sector of HRPM.
This initiative aimed not only to improve care practices but also to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences among professionals. Furthermore, the action sought to train the teams so that they could replicate best practices in their respective locations, thus contributing to the improvement of the quality of orthopedic care in the region.
According to the physician and technical director of the Regional Hospital of Marajó, Marcello Ferreira, "the improvement of internal flows at HRPM requires expanded dialogue with all external partners. The municipalities in the region are the source of our patients. Sharing experiences regarding best practices positively impacts the daily lives of the community, in addition to ensuring increased access to health for those who need it most."
He adds that HRPM fulfills its historical role of ensuring health for the people of Marajó. "The successful experience of the Immobilization Sector Experiences will extend to other areas, which could further improve health assistance in the 7 municipalities of the area of influence," concluded the manager.
Janaína Peixoto, a radiology technician from the municipality of Melgaço, explains that participating in the initiative was a rewarding experience.
"I had never known the immobilization sector of the regional hospital, and this experience contributed to strengthening the Municipal Hospital of Melgaço, as well as to the health professionals involved. Now we can resolve issues in our own municipality," pointed out the professional, who praised the action.
This year, with the aim of expanding and facilitating community access to specialized services, HRPM, in conjunction with the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa), also reorganized the model of open demand care, also known as "open door" for orthopedics.

Approval - Certifying the quality of the services provided, Everton Castro Pereira, 18 years old, a resident of the municipality of Curralinho, reports that upon arriving at HRPM, he was immediately welcomed by the multiprofessional team and received appropriate care. "They are providing excellent service, everyone is attentive," concluded the student.
