University students who register to volunteer at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30) will be able to use the training course as a complementary activity. The training will last for 120 hours and certification will be provided for all who complete the process. The document can be presented to the institution where they are pursuing their degree to count towards the required extracurricular hours. This extracurricular activity is valid for students in bachelor's, teaching, and technological courses.

The registrations for the COP30 Volunteer Program can be made until Thursday (5), exclusively through the website voluntarioscop30.pa.gov.br. COP 30 will take place from November 10 to 21 in Belém. Volunteers will receive transportation, meals, and official uniforms during the event.

In addition to the extracurricular activity, working as a volunteer at a global event enhances the resume and provides university students with the opportunity to expand their professional network - known as networking.

In total, the COP Volunteer Program will offer approximately 4,000 spots, with 20% reserved for indigenous and quilombola individuals and 5% for people with disabilities, as stipulated in the announcement. There are opportunities for individuals with high school, higher education, and university students.

Women and men aged 18 and over, residing in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, and with intermediate-level proficiency in English can apply. The necessary documents to confirm the registration are: recent proof of residence (water, electricity, or internet bill), voter registration card, negative criminal record certificate (state or federal), and a resume (free format or Lattes platform).

Selected volunteers will undergo a training course covering topics such as climate change, tourism, sustainability, and intercultural communication.
