During an inspection at the tax post of the State Department of Finance (Sefa), conducted by inspectors assigned to the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control of Carajás, a load of various pallets valued at R$ 17,500.00 was seized. The seizure occurred on Saturday (31).

Pallets are rectangular platforms made of wood, metal, or plastic, designed to facilitate the transportation and storage of goods.

The seizure took place at the tax post of the Carajás Railway in Marabá. “A vehicle transporting goods from São Luís-MA to Parauapebas-PA was stopped. According to the invoice presented, the goods were destined for Araguaína-TO; however, after an investigation by the inspection, it was found that the goods would be unloaded illegally in Parauapebas-PA, characterizing a breach of transit, which is when the invoice indicates one destination and the goods go to another location,” explained the coordinator of the tax unit, Cicinato Oliveira.

A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued with a total due amount, including ICMS and fines, of R$ 10,307.50, which was paid and the goods were released.
