The State Secretariat for Tourism (Setur) held a strategic meeting with municipal stakeholders of the Tourism Regionalization Program (PRT), integrating the agenda of the Tourism Forum of the Amazon Atlantic Guamá Tourist Region, held in Igarapé-Açu last Thursday (29). The meeting brought together representatives from 15 municipalities that make up the region, providing a valuable space for articulation, exchange of experiences, and alignment around strengthening tourism activities in the territory.

During the meeting, the new regional stakeholders were also introduced, who will have the mission of representing the region to Setur and coordinating collective efforts for the implementation of the program's actions, further strengthening shared management.

The meeting highlighted the essential role of municipal stakeholders in the implementation of the PRT and in conducting regionalization actions. During the event, current priority guidelines for the sustainable development of local tourism were discussed, always in line with the Ministry of Tourism's guidelines. Topics such as strengthening regional governance, structuring and mapping tourism offerings, service qualification, and promoting production associated with tourism were among the central points debated.

For Hugo Almeida, manager of the structuring of tourist destinations at Setur and state interlocutor of the Tourism Regionalization Program, the meeting was also a space for sharing good practices among municipalities. He believes that the meeting contributed to the dissemination of successful experiences that can be replicated in other locations. Information on the progress of the program in the region was also updated, and planning for the next joint actions to be executed in the coming months was initiated.

"The presence of municipal stakeholders and the integration with the Tourism Forum's agenda reinforced the commitment to participatory management. This articulation strengthens tourism as a tool for economic development, social inclusion, and cultural appreciation, in addition to boosting the sense of belonging and territorial identity. With this, the Amazon Atlantic Guamá Tourist Region advances in the process of consolidation as an integrated, sustainable, and competitive regional tourist destination," signals Hugo Almeida from Setur.
