The State Secretariat of Tourism of Pará (Setur), in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism (MTur), promoted a series of actions aimed at inspecting tourism service providers and conducting workshops on the Cadastur system, in the municipalities of Ponta de Pedras and Soure, in the Marajó archipelago, from May 26 to 29. The activities are part of the efforts of the Government of Pará to strengthen the tourism sector in preparation for COP 30, in November this year, in Belém.

The program included the presence of MTur fiscal agents, Tânia Penha and Luziene Santos, who guided local providers on the importance of registration in Cadastur — a Federal Government system that formalizes and regulates tourism activities in Brazil.

“The actions of Setur and MTur aim primarily to prepare the tourist destinations of Pará for the increased demand resulting from COP 30, as well as to promote formalization, entrepreneurship, and access to credit for local tourism agents,” explains the Secretary of Tourism of Pará, Eduardo Costa.

According to Law No. 11.771/2008, registration is mandatory for activities such as tourist camps, travel agencies and guides, theme parks, event organizers, accommodation providers, and tourist transport companies. It is also optional for establishments such as bars, restaurants, water parks, car rental companies, entertainment venues, leisure enterprises, convention centers, among others.

In Ponta de Pedras, the technical visit identified that about 80% of the accommodation facilities in the municipality are already properly registered in the system. The Cadastur workshop was held on the 26th at the City Hall, with the participation of the municipal Secretary of Tourism, Miguelita Ribeiro, who thanked the initiative. Representatives from Banpará, responsible for credit lines such as Fungetur and CredTurismo, available exclusively for registered providers, were also present.

During the event, the Setur team reinforced the importance of qualification and training for professionals in the sector, focusing on increasing the presence of municipalities on the Brazilian Tourism Map. Registered service providers received certificates, and it was emphasized that registration is free and can be done entirely online through the Cadastur website.

In Soure, the actions took place from May 27 to 29, culminating in the workshop held this Thursday (29) at Hotel Marajó. The regional coordinator of Cadastur by Setur, Margarete Carvalho, highlighted the work of the secretariat in all 144 municipalities of Pará, promoting the strengthening of tourism as a strategic economic activity.

The program also included the participation of the municipal Secretary of Tourism of Soure, Júlio Neto, representatives from Sebrae, and banking institutions such as Banpará, Banco da Amazônia, and Banco do Brasil, which presented financing lines and business opportunities aimed at the tourism sector.
