Environmental planning on the agenda of the Management Council meeting of the APA Triunfo do Xingu

During the meeting, the proposal for activities for the second semester of 2025 was presented, including actions focused on environmental monitoring, environmental education, land regularization, and promotion of sustainable production.

Representatives from various public institutions and organized civil society gathered in São Félix do Xingu, in southeastern Pará, for the Ordinary Meeting of the Management Council of the Environmental Protection Area (APA) Triunfo do Xingu. The meeting took place at the Rural Producer Assistance Complex and had as its main agenda the planning of actions to be executed by the Institute for Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio) in the Conservation Unit (UC).

During the meeting, the proposal for activities for the second semester of 2025 was presented, including actions focused on environmental monitoring, environmental education, land regularization, and promotion of sustainable production. The councilors also discussed strategies to enhance integration among various agencies and strengthen community participation in the management of the APA.

The meeting was attended by representatives from public agencies such as Ideflor-Bio, the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Emater), as well as municipal secretariats of Environment and Agriculture from São Félix do Xingu and Altamira. From civil society, entities such as Cacuxi, the Rural Producers Union, Agricatu, Camppax, Adapax, the Pastoral Land Commission, and Xinguri participated.

Appreciation - “Strengthening participatory governance is essential to ensure the effectiveness of actions within the APA Triunfo do Xingu. We are building with the councilors a plan that respects the region's vocations, values local communities, and protects natural resources,” said the manager of the Xingu Administrative Region of Ideflor-Bio, Marco Aurélio Oliveira.

The director of Management and Monitoring of Conservation Units at Ideflor-Bio, Ellivelton Carvalho, highlighted the role of the Management Council in consolidating environmental public policies. “The joint action of the various segments represented in the council is decisive for us to advance in biodiversity conservation, productive inclusion, and the promotion of sustainable development in the region,” he concluded.
