Cohab begins celebrations for 60 years with service order for the reconstruction of its headquarters in Belém
The project is budgeted at R$ 11 million and marks a new phase in the history of the Housing Company of Pará, which will celebrate six decades in 2025

Employees and the management of the Housing Company of Pará (Cohab) gathered this Friday (30) in a symbolic act that marked the beginning of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Cohab, officially celebrated in 2025. During the ceremony, the Service Order (OS) was signed, authorizing the start of the reconstruction works of the Company's headquarters, located at Rua Gama Malcher, nº 361, in the Marco neighborhood, in Belém.

The president of Cohab, Manoel Pioneiro, emphasized his long-standing relationship with the Company, despite having been at the helm of the institution for only a few months.
“Since the 1990s, when I worked as a merchant in Cidade Nova, in Ananindeua, I have closely followed the work of Cohab, which was responsible for the urbanization of the area and continues, to this day, to ensure dignified housing for those who need it most. I am very happy to be part of this historic moment, which will return to the employees a restored, modern, and functional headquarters,” said the president.
Founded on April 13, 1965, through State Law No. 3,282, during the government of Jarbas Passarinho, Cohab has undergone two major renovations, in addition to maintenance and expansions in structures such as the warehouse, the Fábrica Esperança space, and the soccer field.
During the event, employees also celebrated the achievement. For Francisco Sales Tavares, president of the Internal Commission for Accident Prevention (Cipa), the renovation is an important victory for the workers.

“The new physical structure represents a significant advancement. A more suitable environment directly contributes to the quality of our work and, consequently, to the development of housing policies in the state,” he declared.
Employee Ruth Serrão also celebrated the announcement of the project.

“Our working hours are from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM, and being in a comfortable and suitable environment makes all the difference. The renovation will improve our health, well-being, and productivity,” she highlighted.

The reconstruction of the Cohab headquarters is budgeted at approximately R$ 11 million, with the Company's own resources. The forecast is that the work will be completed in up to ten months.
