The Oriximiná Menino Jesus Regional Hospital (HRMJ), through the Humanization Commission and with the support of the multidisciplinary team, held another edition of the therapeutic outing, a practice aimed at promoting the well-being and recovery of patients through contact with the external environment.

The activity was applied to patient Marcineia Brito Santos, who has been hospitalized for a long period in the unit. For her, the experience was transformative. "I think the outing is nice. We feel the weather, the wind, enjoy the singing of the birds, the green of the trees. I feel better when I return to the room," she reported.

According to physiotherapist Nelzida Malcher, the therapeutic outing significantly contributes to the physical rehabilitation of patients. "It aims to improve physical quality, promoting mobility, strengthening of muscles, trunk and cervical control, in addition to aligning the shoulder girdle, which improves the movements of the shoulders and upper limbs, favoring quality of life," she explained.

In addition to the physical benefits, the emotional gains are also noticeable. According to psychologist Kácia Feijão, leaving the hospitalization room for an outing in an outdoor area helps reduce stress and anxiety, as well as promoting emotional well-being. "The outing improves the emotional state of the hospitalized patient, as it provides contact with nature and relief from the tension of the hospital environment, positively impacting the patient's psychology," she stated.

The practice is recommended for users of the Unified Health System (SUS) who face long periods of hospitalization, as in the case of the patient who participated in the action and who also went through the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). "She needs this support for her psychological and emotional recovery. It is a humanized action that reinforces the importance of comprehensive care for the person who is undergoing long-term treatment in the hospital," Kácia added.

The HRMJ Humanization Commission has been active since March and carries out various actions aimed at the well-being of patients. According to the president of the commission, nurse Nayana Azevedo, the therapeutic outing follows the guidelines of the National Humanization Policy.

"The goal is to strengthen the bond between the patient and the team, allowing moments of relief from hospitalization and contact with the sun, wind, and nature, always with the support of the multidisciplinary team," she emphasized.

The initiative reinforces the hospital's commitment to a more humane, welcoming, and user-centered care for SUS users.

About the hospital

With seven months of operation, the Oriximiná Menino Jesus Regional Hospital (HRMJ) is consolidating itself as a reference in public health in the region, serving exclusively users of the Unified Health System (SUS). The unit has 26 inpatient beds and an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), in addition to 16 reception beds intended for initial care and monitoring of patients.

With modern infrastructure, the hospital is prepared for laboratory and imaging exams, ensuring agile and efficient diagnostic support. HRMJ offers services in seven medical specialties: anesthesiology, cardiology, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, traumatology, and intensive medicine.

Patient care is reinforced by a multidisciplinary team composed of nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, nutrition, psychology, and social service professionals. This team works with a focus on a comprehensive and humanized approach, prioritizing the reception and recovery of patients at all stages of treatment.

The joint action of the specialties and the commitment to humanization reinforce the role of the regional hospital as a fundamental piece in ensuring access to quality health care for the population of Oriximiná and neighboring municipalities.
