Casa das Onze Janelas hosts free workshop on printmaking techniques
In addition to printmaking techniques, the architecture and history of the location will also be addressed
Next Sunday (1st), the Cultural Space Casa das Onze Janelas will host the workshop "Trajectory of a House", promoted by the Coletivo Impressões. The activity starts at 9 am and will be free, to democratize access to art and value the preservation of the memory of the historical space.
The workshop will be led by the founders of the collective, Kerssya Michelly and Bento Matheus, with participation from the guest artist Vitor Sagres. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the history of Casa das Onze Janelas, as well as experience various printmaking techniques, such as woodcut, stencil, and the use of alternative materials. The proposal also includes the creation of individual and collective works, inspired by the architecture and trajectory of the space.
The activity is aimed at the public aged 10 and above, with or without prior experience in printmaking. The focus is on collective construction and free artistic expression, allowing each participant to contribute their own experiences.
“Our approach is always in a way that the student does not need to master the technique to join us in building a collective. The choice to work on the architecture of the Onze Janelas arose precisely from this moment of making art feasible. We understand that the cultural space, even with its doors open, is not attended by the entire Pará community. So, working with these techniques allows the participating audience to also build a bit of the history of this space, bringing their experiences through art,” explains Kerssya Michelly.
This Sunday also marks the 56th edition of the Circular Campina Cidade Velha project, with over 30 spaces opening their doors with free or accessible activities. The project’s program also includes the Geo Tour, which departs from Casa das Onze Janelas at 8:30 am.
