Secretary of Education of Pará (Seduc) highlights the start of the 2025 School Census
Of national scope, the survey is conducted annually and is the main statistical survey on basic education in the country

The first stage of the 2025 Basic Education School Census survey began this Wednesday, 28, and all educational institutions in the country must respond to the survey, which is the main statistical survey on basic education in the country. Focusing on the quality of the data declared by public state schools, the State Secretary of Education (Seduc) warns about the start of the campaign and will provide guidance for technical teams and managers of educational units.
The census will be conducted through the Educacenso System, a digital platform that allows schools, municipalities, and states to send, verify, and correct data. The survey is declarative in nature and is organized in two stages; the first consists of filling out the Initial Enrollment, which started on Wednesday (28) and will continue until July 31, when information will be collected about educational institutions, managers, classes, students, and school professionals in the classroom.
The second stage of the survey involves collecting information about the Student Situation, when schools report data on student movement and academic performance at the end of the school year.
"The last Wednesday of May is considered the national reference date for the School Census, a date that also marks the beginning of the data collection period declared by schools in the School Census, which extends until July 31, 2025. At this moment, schools need to declare their enrollment information, infrastructure information, and information about teachers and professionals working in them. The census data is important because it contributes to the formulation of significant public policies," emphasized the coordinator of the Census, state coordinator of Enrollment and School Census of Seduc, Evandro Paiva.

The survey is coordinated by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research (Inep) and is conducted in collaboration with state and municipal education departments, with the participation of all public and private schools in the country. The data supports the Ministry of Education (MEC) in defining educational public policies and transferring financial resources to federative units and municipalities for the payment of teachers, school meals, school transportation, and others. It is worth noting that it is from the data of the School Census that educational indicators about the quality of education throughout Brazil are produced.
For the State, the census data supports the monitoring of important public policies that have been developed by the Government, through Seduc, such as the Bora Estudar, State School Transportation Program (PETE), State School Feeding Program (PEAE), Money in the Paraense School Program (PRODEP), Server Bonus Program for achieving goals in IDEB, ICMS Education share, measured by the Educational Quality Index (IQE), and others.
The State Coordination of the School Census (Cemec) will conduct in-person and online training during the months of June and July throughout the Pará territory, aiming to improve the quality of the data declared in the Census by schools.
On June 3 and 4, training will be held in the auditorium of the Secretary of Education for private network schools. On the 5th, it will be for municipal schools, all from the metropolitan region.
Starting June 23, training will occur in the centers located in other municipalities of the State.
