Baixo Amazonas has new modern, safe, and comfortable Waterway Terminals
Since 2019, 10 completely new terminals have been delivered in Terra Santa, Faro, Curuá, Prainha, Almeirim, Monte Alegre, among other municipalities

“We are satisfied because now we have a port for boarding and disembarking the population. The lines had a greater flow and saw that it was necessary to have a waterway to serve the population,” said Antonio Eraldo, a resident of Óbidos - the municipality that received a new terminal in 2021.
Investments in the construction and reconstruction of Passenger and Cargo Waterway Terminals in the Baixo Amazonas Integration region are essential for economic development, product flow, and enhance tourism.

With this objective, the government of Pará, through the State Ports and Waterways Company (CPH), has already delivered, since 2019, 10 completely new terminals in the municipalities of Terra Santa, Faro, Curuá, Prainha, Almeirim, Santana do Tapará (Santarém), Óbidos, Monte Alegre, Santarém, and Alenquer.
“Improving the infrastructure of the waterway terminals in the Baixo Amazonas region with modern ports is a strategic project of the state government, seeking to promote sustainable development, regional integration, and provide a better quality of life for the riverside population, offering more comfort, safety, and accessibility,” said CPH president Hilton Aguiar.

The spaces feature a modern, accessible structure, with common areas and spaces aimed at interaction for passengers and tourists visiting the municipality.
Investments in port modernization also facilitate the movement of people, integrate communities, and promote socioeconomic development with the flow of local products.

President Hilton Aguiar also emphasizes that the terminals will “Boost tourism and the economy of the region, characterized by extensive river networks and that relies heavily on waterway transport for the movement of people and the flow of products.”
Most modern terminal - in 2022, the State delivered the Santarém Passenger and Cargo Waterway Terminal “Joaquim da Costa Pereira.” Considered the largest and most modern public waterway terminal in the region, this historic work benefits about 700,000 inhabitants of municipalities in Baixo Amazonas and has the capacity to serve 5,000 users daily.

The terminal, with over 22,000 square meters of built area, features ticket sales counters, luggage storage, carts for baggage, and wheelchairs. The boarding room has 1,205 long benches, free wi-fi, and two escalators that facilitate accessibility to the second floor.
Quality - The designs of the THs take into account the safety and comfort of the user. In addition to valuing the architecture and painting of the locations. It also offers spaces for craft fairs, snack bars, creating an experience for visitors.
With the delivery of the structures, the State strengthens port infrastructure and waterway transport throughout Pará.
New THs - To enhance the state's waterway network, integrating all regions, CPH is currently working on eight THs, with 4 in Marajó (Breves, Salvaterra, Oeiras do Pará, and Chaves), one in Tocantins (Mocajuba), one in Xingu (Senador José Porfírio), and two in Guajará (Belém and Icoaraci-Belém).
