The official opening of the sports program will take place this Thursday (29), at 7 PM, at the Ricardo Boulhosa Gymnasium, located on Rua 15 de Novembro.

In total, 509 athletes are registered to participate in the competition, representing the municipalities of Soure, Cachoeira do Arari, Muaná, Salvaterra, Santa Cruz do Arari, and Ponta de Pedras. The games will continue until June 1st, with competitions in five modalities: futsal, beach soccer, volleyball, handball, and table tennis.

The head of Seel, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the positive impact of the initiative in the region. “Joapa is the largest amateur competition held by the State, and Marajó lives sports. The people of Marajó are passionate about sports practices. The event represents social integration, development, and income generation for the municipality. Ponta de Pedras is hosting five neighboring municipalities, which reinforces the inclusive nature of the competition. May the opening be a beautiful celebration and may everyone leave happy,” said the secretary.
Joapa encompasses all 144 municipalities in Pará in ten regional stages, aiming to promote sports and foster social inclusion through sports practice. In addition to the court competitions, the event rewards municipalities with the best performance through the Efficiency Trophy.
