HRPC promotes Sustainable Collection for proper disposal of oil in Capanema
The action initially involves the participation of six partner establishments and aims to prevent the incorrect disposal of waste in the environment
The Regional Public Hospital of Caetés (HRPC), in Capanema, through the sustainability committee, developed the Sustainable Collection project, which seeks the proper collection of used cooking oil from restaurants in the municipality's commercial center. The action initially involves the participation of six partner establishments and aims to prevent the incorrect disposal of waste in the environment.
The collection will be carried out on demand and all material will be sent to a specialized company that will ensure correct and safe disposal. The results will be presented during the "Blue Guardian" campaign, a national movement to encourage environmental preservation created by the National Institute for Social and Human Development (INDSH), which manages the HRPC, in partnership with the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa).
The president of the HRPC Sustainability Committee, Alexandre Nunes, emphasizes the importance of joint action with local establishments. "Our goal with the sustainable collection is to raise environmental awareness beyond the hospital walls, also involving the local community in responsible practices. By proposing this partnership with restaurants, we directly contribute to the preservation of natural resources and show that small actions, when combined, create significant impacts. It is gratifying to see the engagement of establishments in this cause."
Merchant Maria Elina de Sousa, 47, owner of one of the establishments visited by the committee and with 11 years of experience in the food sector, highlighted the importance of the initiative. "The initiative to ensure proper disposal is very important, maintaining this care for the environment and encouraging other entrepreneurs to adopt this practice as well. Everyone benefits from such actions: the city, nature, and future generations."
