International Music Festival of Pará features II Recorder Meeting and Guitar Meeting
The educational program will offer masterclasses and lectures on guitar and recorder

The 37th edition of the International Music Festival of Pará (FIMUPA), organized by the Government of Pará through the Carlos Gomes Foundation (FCG), will have a special program for music students. This year, the Festival will hold the II Recorder Meeting and the Guitar Meeting, offering masterclasses, lectures, and performances aimed at students of the institution and the general public. This initiative is part of the celebrations for the 130th anniversary of the Carlos Gomes State Institute, which aims to promote music education and highlight the talents within the institution.
According to the Director of Education at the Carlos Gomes State Institute, Robenare Marques, "the 37th festival will showcase the dynamism of the recorder and guitar instruments through masterclasses with guest musicians and special performances that will highlight these instruments," notes Robenare.

Recorder - "In addition to performances by brass instruments, choral singing, orchestras, and symphonic bands, the audience and music students will be able to enjoy classes and concerts with the Flautarium (UFRGS), Flauta de Bloco (PE), as well as recorder players Cassio Caponi (RS), Luciana Schmidt (PR), and Lúcia Carpena (UFRGS), who are musicians with extensive experience in the recorder," informs Robenare. In addition to Brazilian groups, the event will also feature as one of the main attractions the Unblocked Recorder Orchestra from Germany. The festival will also include a performance by the Amazon Recorder Group, which is part of the extension projects of the Carlos Gomes State Institute.
Guitar - Guitar students will also have the opportunity to participate in a musical exchange with the Quaternaglia Group (SP). Joel Prazeres Costa, the event organizer, reveals that "the festival will also promote the musical exchange of students with Quaternaglia, which is one of the most important guitar quartets today," says Joel.
"In addition to the opening concert of FIMUPA at Theatro da Paz, the members of Quaternaglia will conduct guitar masterclasses, thus contributing to the training of our students and providing an opportunity for external students from our institution to also participate in this pedagogical/musical experience," informs the coordinator.
The 37th International Music Festival of Pará will take place from June 1 to June 5 with free programming. Concerts featuring flute and guitar musicians will be held at the Ettore Bosio Hall, Church of Santo Alexandre, and Theatro da Paz.
