The Secretary of Environment and Sustainability of Pará (Semas) has extended the registrations for the Environment Run and Walk, which will take place on June 7, at the Utinga State Park, Belém. Registrations are open in person at the secretary's headquarters, located at Travessa Lomas Valentinas, No. 2717, in the Marco neighborhood, until Wednesday (28) from 8 am to 5 pm.

The run is part of a campaign to collect food items for wildlife. Registration can be done by donating R$ 50.00 in feed for wildlife, with proof of purchase. Participants registered in the PCD category are exempt from the donation. Additionally, bulk feed donations, that is, without individual packaging, and mixtures with seeds and canary seed will not be accepted.

All products will be donated to Semas' partner maintainers, who provide veterinary care and treat the animals until their subsequent release.

"The Run and Walk is more than a sporting event; it is a way of raising awareness and showing solidarity with the environment. By combining physical activity with the donation of feed, we are strengthening care for wildlife and promoting societal engagement in environmental protection. We count on everyone's participation to make this moment a collective commitment to sustainability," emphasizes the Secretary of Environment and Sustainability of Pará, Raul Protázio Romão.

Donation criteria - the donation of feed must meet specific criteria to ensure the quality of the food offered to the animals.

All products must be industrialized, extruded, sealed in their original packaging, without violation or dents, and with clear information about the product, expiration date, manufacturing date, and batch.

The event promises to be a day of awareness and physical activity, with 800 spots for the run and 200 for the walk. Participants will receive a kit containing all the necessary items for the event day, including the official shirt.

The collection of participant kits, consisting of a bag, shirt, number, pins, regulations, and identification ticket, is scheduled for the period from June 2 to June 6, 2025. Only runners will receive timing chips, essential for the competition.

Regulations and categories - the event will be strictly monitored to ensure fairness and compliance with the rules. The start will be staggered: PCD at 6 am, run at 6:05 am, and walk at 6:10 am. Participants must arrive 30 minutes in advance, wearing the event shirt and with the bib number visible. Unsportsmanlike conduct, such as cutting corners or obstructing other competitors, will result in disqualification.

Runners will be divided into categories of Semas employees, non-employees, and PCD, with specific subdivisions for physical, visual, and intellectual disabilities. Everyone who completes the course will receive participation medals, and the top three in each category will be awarded.
