The State Department of Finance of Pará (Sefa) seized, on Saturday (24), two large loads of goods with tax irregularities, in actions carried out by the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Araguaia and Gurupi. In total, 147.5 tons of soybeans and 75 heads of cattle were intercepted, totaling over half a million reais in products retained due to lack of proper documentation.

The first seizure occurred at the Barreira do Campo tax post, on the PA-441 highway, in Santana do Araguaia, southeast of the state. Sefa inspectors identified that three bitrem trucks were transporting a total of 147,540 kg of soybeans with an invoice issued as "shipment for export," destined for the municipality of Aquiraz (CE). However, after verification, it was found that the shippers did not have an active special export regime — which would require the advance collection of state tax upon leaving Pará.

"The transportation of the soybeans was not supported by the documentation required for the export operation. Given the irregularity, six Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs) were issued, totaling R$ 57,608.97 in taxes and fines, which were paid. After regularization, the goods were released," explained Renato Couto, coordinator of the tax unit in Conceição do Araguaia.

In the northeastern part of Pará, on the border with Maranhão, inspectors stationed at the Sefa unit in Cachoeira do Piriá, in the Gurupi Coordination, seized 75 heads of cattle transported with an irregular invoice. The load left Marajá do Sena (MA) destined for São Francisco do Pará, but presented document inconsistencies.

"The vehicle was transporting cattle with an invoice dated May 22, but which had already been registered in the Sefa system on the 23rd. After requesting a new invoice, another fiscal document was issued, this time reporting only 45 animals. During the physical inspection, 75 heads of cattle were found, which evidenced the discrepancy," reported Gustavo Bozola, coordinator of the unit.

Given the irregularity, the inspection disregarded the documents presented and assessed the value of the load based on the Sefa Minimum Price Bulletin: R$ 218,337.75. A TAD was issued in the amount of R$ 74,671.51. The load was sent to the Pará Agency for Agricultural Defense (Adepará), responsible for sanitary and agricultural inspection procedures.

Sefa's operations reinforce the fight against tax evasion and the control of the transit of goods in the state, contributing to tax collection and compliance with state legislation.
