IGEPPS launches program for the humanization of social security services

Action extends the institutional mission of the agency beyond the granting of pensions and retirements

Transforming the Institute of Social Security and Protection Management of the State (IGEPPS) into an integrated center for coexistence, reception, and multidisciplinary action is one of the main pillars of the "Living Well" program, launched this Friday (23) in Belém. The initiative was presented during an event that brought together servers, collaborators, and guests, marking a new stage in the care policy for the more than 55,000 insured individuals of the agency.

The program expands the network of attention built since 2019, focusing on encouraging active aging, and is structured around five fundamental axes: celebration, reception, experience, autonomy, and well-being. These principles will guide actions aimed at training, recreation, socialization, and psychological support for retirees and pensioners linked to the State's Own Social Security System (RPPS) of Pará.

More than just a new project, "Living Well" acts as an institutional umbrella that brings together and enhances more than 12 actions already implemented in the area of social security education — in addition to new programs planned for execution throughout the year.

“Through these investments, we have been able to disseminate information not only among the insured but also to the population about the functioning of the RPPS, retirement rules, financial education, and entrepreneurship,” highlighted Marcella Takeshita, social worker at IGEPPS and member of the Psychosocial Care Center.

A new phase of state social security

According to the president of IGEPPS, Washington Albuquerque, "Living Well" represents a new cycle in how the State perceives and acts in social security management. “By adopting a multidisciplinary approach, we promote the humanization of services and ensure institutional presence even after retirement. IGEPPS continues to be a national reference in efficiency and recovery of resources through social security compensation — but, above all, we want to make a real difference in the lives of our beneficiaries,” he stated.

Project “Value in Every Story” honors new retirees

During the launch event, IGEPPS also held, for the first time, a ceremony honoring 157 new insured individuals — civilians and military — who, in addition to their retirement decree, received a certificate of recognition for their dedication to state public service.

“It is a profound joy. It has been many years waiting for this moment. Today I felt immense pleasure,” reported Sheila Santos, a former employee of the State Department of Education (Seduc), emotionally.

“I hope IGEPPS continues to promote this moment. It marked my history, my professional life,” reinforced the new retiree.

The military firefighter Manassés Melo also shared his emotion. “I was very honored and satisfied with the recognition.”

The tribute, titled “Value in Every Story,” has been included in the official event calendar of the Institute and will occur monthly. “Celebrating each retirement is recognizing the importance of those who helped build a strong and efficient public service. It is to welcome with respect and guarantee the rights so that this new phase of life is lived with dignity and well-being,” concluded Washington Albuquerque.
