Hemopa holds blood donation campaign at Albert Einstein technical school in Belém
The action was part of Nursing Technician Week and mobilized students, teachers, and residents of Marambaia

The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa) promoted an external blood donation campaign on this Monday (19) at the Albert Einstein technical courses school, located in the Marambaia neighborhood of Belém. The initiative, carried out in partnership with the educational institution, aimed to encourage voluntary donations among students, teachers, and residents of the region.

The activity was part of the Nursing Technician Week program and reinforced the importance of the profession's social commitment. “We are at the culmination of Nursing Week, which emphasizes the profession's protagonism. Bringing this mobilization to the academic environment is a way to highlight, with our students, the commitment to the health of the population,” emphasized João Felipe, coordinator of the Nursing course at the Albert Einstein Institute.

The partnership between Hemopa and the school has been ongoing for several years and includes blood collection actions and educational activities focused on health and citizenship. For Hemopa's social worker, Nazaré Saldanha, the proposal goes beyond collection. “The students participated in training last week and today they act as recruiters, spreading the message of the importance of donation to other courses and the community. The goal of this campaign is to collect at least 80 blood bags,” she informed.
In addition to blood donation, the action also allowed for the registration of voluntary bone marrow donors, expanding the campaign's impact. Nursing technical course student Brenda Oliveira participated in the donation for the first time and described the experience as remarkable. “Studying the importance of blood in the treatment of various diseases made me realize how this simple gesture can save lives. Today, I feel emotional and fulfilled. I hope this is the first of many donations,” she declared.

Service - The Hemopa Foundation will hold another external blood donation campaign next Wednesday (21), this time at the Usina da Paz Professor Amintas Pinheiro, located at Est. Icuí Guajará, in Ananindeua, Metropolitan Region of Belém. The action will take place from 8 am to 4 pm, with services provided in a mobile unit and an adapted room.
