Sespa will provide training on Public Health emergencies in preparation for COP30

The event aims to prepare the local health network to host the 30th UN Conference on Climate Change, which will take place in November.

Professionals from various health and safety sectors in Belém and the metropolitan region will participate from May 19 to 23 in the Training and Tabletop Exercise: Public Health Emergencies Associated with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Agents (CBRN).

The event aims to prepare the local health network to host the 30th UN Conference on Climate Change (COP30), to be held in Belém (PA) in November 2025. According to estimates from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), a flow of more than 40,000 visitors is expected during the main days of the Conference.

The training will be held at the auditorium of the Amazon Foundation for Support of Studies and Research (Fapespa) and conducted by technicians appointed by the Ministry of Health, such as the CBRN teams and the Institute of Radioprotection and Dosimetry (IRD/CNEN). The goal will be the participation of representatives from the three government spheres – municipal, state, and federal health, as well as professionals from various technical areas, all essential for planning the preparatory actions for the mass event.

* Location: Fapespa Auditorium (Avenida Presidente Vargas, 670, between Riachuelo and General Gurjão streets, in Belém)

* Duration: 05 days

* Target audience: Brazilian Navy, 8th CMN, SAMU, backup hospitals, State Surveillance (Cievs, Devs, DEPI, and Visamb), IML, SVO, Ports and Airports, municipal and state focal points in CBRN, 1st CRS, Visamb Belém, State Central Laboratory, and Evandro Chagas Institute.
