State Council on Drugs evaluates inspections in therapeutic communities
The collegiate also deliberated on a new date for the Paraense Week for Drug Use Prevention in 2025

The State Council on Drugs (Coned), linked to the State Secretariat of Justice (Seju), held an ordinary meeting on Tuesday (13) to report on the inspection visits to therapeutic communities in the municipalities of the Guajará Integration Region. The meeting also deliberated on a new date for the Paraense Week for Drug Use Prevention this year.
The technical inspection reports were submitted by the counselors responsible for the visits to the indicated communities. Some of the problems observed in the locations involved pending documentation, inadequate infrastructure, lack of professionals, or diversion of purpose of the space, serving as shelter for the elderly or treatment clinics.

During the presentation of the reports, the counselors deliberated on possibilities for assisting the proper functioning of therapeutic communities. “It is important that there is unity among the technical chambers of the Council and collaboration with other institutions in guiding these communities,” stated the Justice Director of Seju, Renata Hage.
The meeting also evaluated the holding of the In-Person Public Consultation in the North region for the review of the National Drug Policy Plan, promoted by Seju and Coned on the last day 7, gathering more than 300 people at the event. There was a highlight on the participation of high school students and members of therapeutic communities in the consultation.

In addition, the Council deliberated on the date for the Paraense Week for Prevention and Combat of Drug Use this year. The event traditionally takes place in the week of June 26 (International Day Against Drugs), but considering the adapted school calendar for the holding of COP 30 in that week, the counselors voted for the program to be held from August 20 to 26, so that public school students have more ease in participating in the activities.
