A team of experts from the Forensic Chemistry Laboratory, part of the Coordination of Laboratories (Colab), of the Forensic Police of Pará (PCEPA), in Belém, conducted an examination this Tuesday (13) on nearly 500 kilograms of drugs seized during a regulatory action by agents of the Integrated River Base 'Antônio Lemos'. The drugs were in a trailer, transported by a barge, in the municipality of Breves, in Marajó. The drugs were sent to the State Department for the Prevention and Suppression of Drug Trafficking (Denarc), which opened a police inquiry to investigate the case and requested the forensic examination.

The examination accounted for 507 kilograms of drugs, including 487 kilograms of skunk, a stronger type of marijuana, divided into 441 bricks, and 25 kilograms of Oxi, a cocaine derivative, divided into 23 bricks. "The drugs were described, weighed, and counter-samples were sent to the forensic laboratory of PCEPA, where they will undergo other confirmatory tests," stated the forensic expert of PCEPA, Bianca Passinho.

According to the police chief responsible for the case, Lúcio Bezerra, with the help of a sniffer dog, it was possible to identify that there were drugs in the vehicle. "The drugs came from Manaus destined for Belém. The drugs usually come from the 'Brazil-Peru-Colombia' triple border.
The truck driver was caught in the act for the crime of drug trafficking," said the chief.

The report will support the disposal of all the seized product, which will be taken for incineration by the Civil Police. "The importance of the Forensic Police in these cases is to quantify the drug, know the nature of the drug, so that we can establish a standard of action, including related to the route to identify exactly where the drugs come from," explained the chief.
