Arthur Vianna Public Library screens the film “The Mothers of Chico Xavier” this Wednesday
The film screening is part of the “Cine Arthur” project by the Cultural Foundation of Pará

The national drama “The Mothers of Chico Xavier” will be screened for free this Wednesday, the 14th, at 3 PM, at the Arthur Vianna Public Library, located at the headquarters of the Cultural Foundation of Pará in Belém. No registration or ticket collection is required to participate.
“The Mothers of Chico Xavier” (2011), directed by Glauber Filho and Halder Gomes, is based on true stories, diving into the journeys of three women who, in moments of deep pain and transformation, find in the medium Chico Xavier a source of comfort and hope.
The plot follows Ruth, the mother of Raul, a teenager struggling with drugs; Elisa, who tries to cope with her husband's absence by giving her full attention to her young son, Theo. And Lara, a teacher who faces the dilemma of an unplanned pregnancy. Amid the uncertainties of life, these three mothers seek answers and spiritual support from the medium from Minas Gerais, a central figure in Brazilian spiritism.

The film also features the character Karl, a reporter who insists on interviewing Chico Xavier, even though he is not truly prepared to understand the depth of his mission and the spiritual universe surrounding him.
With a sensitive narrative and striking performances, “The Mothers of Chico Xavier” is a reflection on faith, unconditional love, and the search for meaning amid pain. The session promises to move the audience and provoke important reflections on motherhood and spirituality.
