State Department of Finance (Sefa) seizes 29 tons of beef
Goods valued at R$ 536,000 left Rondon do Pará heading to São Paulo (SP)

During an inspection carried out by the State Department of Finance (Sefa) on Monday (12), state revenue inspectors assigned to the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in Carajás, southeastern state, seized 29 tons of beef, valued at R$ 536,102.25.
The cargo left the municipality of Rondon do Pará (southeastern Pará region) heading to Fernandópolis (SP). The seizure occurred at the Carne de Sol tax post, located on the BR-222 highway, in the rural area of Abel Figueiredo, also in southeastern Pará.

“The driver of the goods presented an invoice classifying the operation as 'shipment for industrialization by order'. However, after document analysis and consultation with the systems of the Department of Finance, it was found that the issuing company did not have a differentiated tax regime that authorized the exemption of ICMS in interstate operations of this nature. Furthermore, it became evident that it was, in fact, a sale operation, subject to regular taxation,” explained the coordinator of the tax unit, Cicinato Oliveira.
A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 25,732.93, which was paid and the goods released.
