The Government of Pará, through the Military Fire Brigade (CBMPA) and the State Civil Defense Coordination (Cedec), delivered this Saturday (10) a total of 650 humanitarian baskets to the families of Bannach, in the Araguaia Integration Region. The emergency action aims to reduce the impacts caused by the heavy rains that have hit the municipality since the beginning of the year.

“I want to congratulate the entire team of the State Fire Brigade, the State Civil Defense, and also the municipality of Bannach for delivering the humanitarian baskets to the registered families. Infrastructure is important, but caring for people is, for those who need it most, the most important work of any government,” emphasized Governor Helder Barbalho during the action.

With an investment of R$ 152,750.00, the humanitarian aid directly assists residents facing losses due to floods, destruction of bridges, blocked roads, and damage to urban and rural infrastructure.

Maria de Lourdes da Silva, a resident of the Bela Vista sector, expresses gratitude for the State Government's initiative: “It is very good for us. We are grateful for this help. I live on a minimum wage and take care of three grandchildren. This help came at a good time. It is a relief for us,” assures the 62-year-old retiree.

Sara Lima highlights that “those who live on retirement cannot afford to buy food, pay bills, or buy medicine,” and emphasizes that it is even more complicated for those who are the only source of income in the household. “I am truly happy because it will help many people, some even more than me. I had never seen anything like this around here,” said the 66-year-old resident in a celebratory tone.

Governor Helder Barbalho reinforced the State's commitment to all municipalities, regardless of size: “Bannach is on the map and on the government's agenda because we do not look at whether the municipality is large or small. We look at where there are people from Pará, and wherever there is a person from Pará, we will be there to work.”
