Setur integrates discussions of Fortxingu and participates in indigenous exchange in Xingu
The event discussed topics such as the creation of a new regional association and the inventory of natural attractions in the Xingu region

To define an action calendar for 2025, in addition to discussing strategies for strengthening tourism in the Xingu region and the Transamazon, the 19th Ordinary Meeting of the Xingu Tourist Region Forum (Fortxingu) began on Thursday (8) in Altamira and will continue until this Saturday (10). The event takes place at the headquarters of the Belo Monte Consortium Association and also discussed topics such as the creation of a new regional association and the inventory of natural attractions in the Xingu region.
The forum brings together municipal, state representatives, and partner institutions. The Regulations and Internal Rules of Fortxingu were presented, which underwent a review aimed at obtaining a CNPJ, which will allow the Forum to raise funds.

Fortxingu is a strategic regional governance instance for strengthening and regionalizing tourism in Pará, covering the municipalities of Altamira, Senador José Porfírio, Vitória do Xingu, Uruará, Porto de Moz, Medicilândia, Anapu, Brasil Novo, Pacajá, and Placas. Created in 2007, the forum has consolidated itself as a space for dialogue and integrated planning, bringing together municipal representatives, the private sector, NGOs, and educational institutions. The actions of Fortxingu are guided by concrete actions aimed at sustainable tourism and the socioeconomic development of the region.
The deputy secretary of Setur (State Tourism Secretariat), Lucas Vieira, made a presentation to those present. He reinforced the state government's commitment to the development of the sector in the region. “We will place the State alongside the municipalities to further develop tourism here, on a very important route, which is the Cocoa to Chocolate Route. This is an opportune moment to build efficient public policies and prepare the region for a year when the world will be focused on our natural beauties and our ecotourism,” said Vieira.

Lucas Vieira also announced an investment of R$ 100,000 to be used in supporting the structuring and tourism promotion of the municipalities along the Cocoa route, especially in participating in joint events. The next forum meeting is scheduled for July 10, in Senador José Porfírio.

Indigenous Exchange - Setur also participated on May 9 in the III Cultural Exchange of the Assurini People of Xingu, in the Ita-Aka indigenous territory, which is part of the Koatinemo Indigenous Land, located in the Middle Xingu, 3 hours from Altamira. This year, the event's theme was "Celebrating the unity, diversity, and resistance of indigenous peoples," and brought together 6 ethnicities in a sports and cultural program. The meeting began on the 8th and continues until the 11th.
During the program, dances, body painting parades, crafts, and gastronomy are presented. “This Exchange is a strategic action to preserve the culture and ways of life of indigenous peoples, promoting intercultural education, social inclusion, and environmental protection,” said Conceição Silva, planning and management technician in tourism at Setur.
