The Military Police of Pará held an operational alignment meeting this Friday (9) to define the security strategies that will be applied during the classic match between Remo and Paysandu, scheduled for next Sunday (11) at the Olympic Stadium of Pará. The planning focuses on ensuring the safety of fans and the smooth execution of police actions at an event expected to gather around 50,000 people.

According to Colonel Marcelo Mangas, responsible for policing the match, the early meeting is strategic and prevents failures in the execution of actions on game day. "Previously, this planning was done at the event location itself, which led to information and execution losses. Now, with this prior alignment, each team will know exactly what to do," he explained.

The total mobilized force will consist of 1,280 military police officers, who will operate both around the stadium and on the main access corridors, including Augusto Montenegro, Independência, Dr. Freitas avenues, and the Transmangueirão Highway.

"The presence of the PM starts with the movements of the fans. Our goal is to ensure safety from the moment they leave home until their return," emphasized the colonel.

The operation will have various policing fronts. Foot patrols will be the main force, with 314 agents distributed at strategic points in the stadium and nearby areas. Additionally, 209 vehicles, 55 motorcycles for agile patrolling, 32 mounted officers for policing the outer ring, and personnel from the Highway Police Battalion and Environmental Police will be utilized. The latter will operate with sound level meters to curb noise pollution and apply fines in case of environmental violations.

Preliminary policing will begin at 2 PM, anticipating the security scheme and monitoring of public movement. The PM also emphasizes the importance of fan collaboration in complying with the rules.

"Fans who arrive early help themselves and assist public safety. They avoid crowds and facilitate access to the stadium. Our tradition is to enter in the last 30 minutes, which creates congestion and risks. We want to change that," advised Colonel Marcelo Mangas.

There will be inspections at the bars around and in the internal areas of the stadium. The sale of alcoholic beverages must comply with Municipal Law No. 9,354, of December 27, 2017, which prohibits sales in bottles and cans, allowing only disposable plastic cups. Non-compliance with the rule may result in fines.

At the end of the match, the force will be redistributed to ensure the safe evacuation of fans through the ramps and exits of Mangueirão.
