This week, the Regional Public Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), located in Breves, hosted the "1st Regional Conference on Regulation of Outpatient and Hospital Access." The initiative aimed to strengthen dialogue between the municipalities in the region and HRPM, focusing on building integrated strategies to expand the population's access to health services, especially regarding bed regulation and outpatient care.

The event gathered around 30 participants, including municipal officials responsible for outpatient and hospital regulation, social service professionals, representatives from the Treatment Outside the Home (TFD), users of the Unified Health System (SUS), and members of the Municipal Health Council of Breves.

During the meeting, the senior management of HRPM was present, along with the leadership of the outpatient care sector, Elizabeth Correia, and Silas Campos, leader of the Internal Regulation Center (NIR) in Urgency and Emergency of the hospital. Among the discussed proposals, the creation of a regional program for the prevention of cervical and breast cancer was highlighted, with actions for active search, mammography, and consultations with the specialty of Oncological Gynecology, as recommended by the Ministry of Health, the Brazilian Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics Associations (Febrasgo), and the Federal Council of Medicine.

Eurieles Carvalho, director of the Division of Organization, Control, and Evaluation (DOCA) of the 8th CRS, highlighted the positive impact of the conference:

"First, I want to congratulate the management of HRPM, the executive director Jusciely Machado, and her technical director, Dr. Marcello Ferreira, who promoted the initiative with the support of the 8th CRS. It was the first regional conference on regulation of outpatient and hospital access organized by HRPM. I thank all the professionals from the municipalities who were present at this moment, which is a milestone in guaranteeing the rights of our patients."

Adriano Costa, director of the General Hospital of Portel, also praised the initiative:

"It was an honor to be invited by Sespa to participate in the training, along with the entire coordination and management of the Regional Public Hospital of Marajó. It was a deep and very productive training on outpatient and hospital regulation. We presented our scenario, and I am sure that the ties to make SUS better and better in the Marajó region are getting stronger every day, because our main support, which is the Regional Hospital, is open-armed for us and has been a very good support for all the Marajoara people."

For Elian Ferreira da Silva, coordinator of regulation in the municipality of Curralinho, the meeting addressed a long-standing demand from local teams:

"A roundtable discussion was held to align the flows of hospitalization and outpatient care. The meeting with the management and their teams allowed for dialogue and strengthening of partnerships."

Humanized care

During the event, the positive experience of patients treated at HRPM was also highlighted. Maria Ivete Fona Nunes, 52, reported the quality of the care received after suffering a trauma with a fracture and dislocation of her wrist.

"They gave me immediate assistance, and I was operated on the next day; I am already recovering. They provided me with a lot of security because I was desperate, but they did everything to ease my pain. The professionals are very attentive, always providing me with the necessary care. I did not feel alone or unsupported. I was very well treated, thank you," thanked the community health agent.
