Sefa seizes forklift hidden among nylon packaging

State revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) of Pará seized, on Wednesday, 07/05, a forklift worth R$ 105,000.00 hidden among nylon packaging. The officials are assigned to the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, in Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará.

“During the inspection of a truck coming from São Luís (MA) heading to Ananindeua, the delivery of the tax documents was requested. The officials decided to physically check the load and removed the tarpaulin covering the vehicle. A new forklift was found, hidden among nylon packaging (big bags), in an attempt to evade the tax authorities by transporting concealed goods,” said the coordinator of Gurupi, Gustavo Bozola.

After the discovery, the driver presented tax documentation that was disregarded, as the operation reported in the tax document had as sender the State of Goiás and destination São Luís (MA). Two Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs) were issued totaling R$ 39,751.04, referring to the tax and fine.

Araguaia – In the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Araguaia, a load of 6,500 kg of steel profiles and various hardware was also seized on Wednesday, totaling R$ 54,476.81.

“The two tax invoices presented indicated that the load originated and was destined for Araguaina (TO), for a non-contributing legal entity, therefore, the tax documentation did not cover the entry of the goods into the State of Pará,” reported the coordinator Renato Couto.

The seizure occurred at the tax post of Bela Vista, in the village of the same name, located on the access road to Floresta do Araguaia, southeastern Pará.

A TAD was issued in the amount of R$14,490.83, referring to the tax and fine for invalid tax documentation, which was paid and the goods were released.
