Incentive action for local economic development promotes partnerships between Codec and the municipalities of Oriximiná and Bragança
Strategic partnerships boost regional economic potential and strengthen the economy of Pará

Representatives from the municipalities of Oriximiná and Bragança were received by the Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) for the planning of joint actions aimed at promoting the economic growth of the municipalities, improving the business environment, and increasing the capacity to attract companies interested in investments and expansion in these regions, located in the west and northeast of the State.
The economy of Oriximiná is mainly supported by extractive, agricultural, and mining activities. One of the main highlights is the extraction of bauxite, driven by the operations of Mineração Rio do Norte, which represents one of the largest sources of revenue and job creation in the region.
“Codec reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable development of municipalities like Oriximiná and Bragança, acting strategically to strengthen productive chains, attract investments, and support initiatives that enhance the potential of each region,” emphasized Codec's Director of Strategy and Institutional Relations, Pádua Rodrigues.

Oriximiná has an economy based on segments such as rural areas, family farming, cattle ranching, artisanal fishing, and the collection of non-timber forest products, such as Brazil nuts and açaí, which are essential for riverside and indigenous communities. With a vast territory and sociocultural diversity, the municipality seeks to promote sustainable development and socioeconomic inclusion, and Codec works to strengthen these productive chains, supporting the possibility of establishing an economically incentivized area in the municipality.
“We came to Codec with the aim of developing concrete plans for the economic boost of Oriximiná. The idea is to encourage the local economy through plans and actions that contribute to the growth of the municipality and the improvement of the quality of life of the population, so that families can prosper economically,” informed the President of the City Council of Oriximiná, Renan Guimarães.
In Bragança, the economic potential is especially based on agricultural production areas, such as the cultivation of rice, corn, cocoa, and cupuaçu. The city stands out as a fishing and mariculture hub, utilizing its proximity to the coast, in addition to having an important extractive base, with the collection of açaí and other products.

These are sectors that provide opportunities for investors looking to explore locations rich in natural resources with great possibilities for economic growth in both domestic and foreign markets.
“The goal of this strategic partnership with Codec, established through the signing of a Letter of Intent, is to promote actions for the economic development of the municipality, which will also facilitate the arrival of entrepreneurs to settle in the region. The stages will be developed, from planning actions, a development seminar, to the launch of the Investor's Guide,” stated the Vice Mayor of Bragança, Marcely Castanho.
Through this support, the Company seeks to enhance and transform the economic vocation of these locations into concrete opportunities, promoting growth, income generation, and socioeconomic inclusion for the population.
