Sections of Três Corações and Mário Covas avenues will be closed for the advancement of the overpass works

The construction of the overpass at Mário Covas Avenue with Três Corações Avenue is moving to another stage. This Tuesday (6), the paving service of the central lane of the work will begin, which requires the closure of the section on Três Corações Avenue, on the lateral lane of the overpass, towards the exit of Cidade Nova, in Ananindeua (Metropolitan Region of Belém).

The section on Mário Covas Avenue, on the lateral lane of the overpass, heading towards BR-316 will also be closed. This measure is necessary to ensure the safety of pedestrians, vehicle drivers, and workers involved in the project.

Alternatives - Drivers on Três Corações Avenue, heading towards the exit of Cidade Nova, who wish to access Mário Covas Avenue must go against the traffic on Três Corações itself.

Those on Mário Covas Avenue, heading towards BR-316, who wish to access Três Corações Avenue or continue on Mário Covas to BR-316, must go against the traffic on Mário Covas, passing under the overpass.

The closures are necessary until May 15 (Thursday). Traffic lights will be on site guiding drivers and pedestrians during the paving services.

The Mário Covas overpass with Independência, which has already reached 85% completion, will be 350 meters long, 7 meters wide, and 5.50 meters high, allowing drivers on Três Corações Avenue to access the elevated road towards BR-316.

The expected delivery of the work is still this month of May. Two other overpasses have already been delivered by the Government of Pará, through the Metropolitan Management Center (NGTM). One is located at Independência Avenue with BR-316, and the other at BR-316 with the entrance to the Viário Ring Road, speeding up traffic on the main entry and exit route of Belém.
