Military Police arrests gang specialized in armored car robbery in southern Pará
Joint operation of the 2nd CIME and 39th PEL/7th BPM seizes heavy weaponry, explosives, and vehicles with theft records
In the early hours of this Monday (5), an operation coordinated by the 2nd Independent Company of Special Missions (2nd CIME), with support from the 39th Military Police Platoon of Pau D’Arco, resulted in the arrest of a gang specialized in armored car robbery. The action took place in the region between the municipalities of Floresta do Araguaia, Pau D’Arco, and Redenção, in southern Pará.
The occurrence began when the Sefa operation team in Floresta do Araguaia observed a truck without license plates fleeing immediately after leaving the ferry towards the municipality. The information was relayed to the other teams, which intensified their approaches along BR-155.
During the diligences, a team from the 39th PEL stopped a motorcyclist carrying two truck license plates. When questioned, he confessed that the plates were to be delivered to the criminal group responsible for the escape in Floresta do Araguaia. The suspect also pointed out the location of the gang in a small farm on the banks of the Pau D’Arco River.

The commander-general of the Military Police, Dilson Júnior, spoke about the seizures and congratulated the team for their work. "We have just arrested in Redenção a gang specialized in bank robbery, six individuals arrested initially, the occurrence is ongoing, explosives, heavy weaponry, rifles, including .50 caliber, and we are very happy to see the CPR-5 Redenção troops. Congratulations to Colonel Alves, all your motivated, prepared team acting to prevent crime throughout the state. Congratulations to everyone, we will continue the ongoing occurrence, where we will evolve with more arrests, and we are very happy to give this news to the people," concluded the commander.
Based on the information, the teams from the 2nd CIME and the 39th PEL/7th BPM set up a tactical operation and surrounded the location. In the confrontation, nine criminals were caught in the act. Three pistols, two 5.56 caliber rifles, one .50 caliber rifle — restricted use weaponry — as well as cartridges of various calibers, explosives, detonating cords, a motorcycle, and the truck used in the escape, which had a theft record, were seized.

The investigations continue in the municipalities of Pau D’Arco, Redenção, and Floresta do Araguaia, to identify and capture other individuals involved in the criminal organization.
The action at the site was led by the commander of the 2nd CIME, Captain PM Leymir, and the commander of the 39th PEL. The operation was also supervised and coordinated by the Special Missions Command (CME), Colonel Mariuba.
