In celebration of its second year of operation, the State Secretariat for Racial Equality and Human Rights (Seirdh) held a citizenship and health drive on the morning of this Saturday (26). The initiative, in partnership with the Public Defender's Office of the State of Pará (DPE), the State Secretariat of Public Health (Sespa), and the Municipal Health Secretariat of Belém (Sesma), offered essential services to more than 800 people, who received free assistance.

Among the available services, the population had access to document regularization and health care. The DPE, through the "Balcão de Direitos" program, assisted 678 people, who received legal guidance, procedural consultation, and voter registration issuance.

Seirdh celebrated its anniversary benefiting the population

Seirdh advisor, Eduardo Iori Miranda, highlighted the importance of conceptualizing this action in celebration of the Secretariat's anniversary. "This service, alongside our partners, is a way to offer, in addition to celebrating this emblematic date, support to the population, providing all necessary assistance to those who need it most in the city of Belém," said Eduardo Miranda.

"These actions are fundamental because the documentation issue, especially, is essential for any citizen, from updates in services in banks, schools, and even in hospitals to secure beds. Every weekend we carry out these events to try to reduce this demand and assist the population," informed the coordinator of the "Balcão de Direitos," Luiz Farias.

Service - Sespa and Sesma provided medical follow-up, distribution of oral kits, rapid tests for the diagnosis of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), psychological assistance, vaccination against Tetanus, Yellow Fever, and the triple viral vaccine, which protects against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella, among other services.

"We are working with immunization, which is extremely important at this pre-COP moment (world conference on climate change). Many people will arrive, and we need this reinforcement. Daily, we carry out immunizations in companies, hospitals, and tourist spots to ensure the health of the population of Pará," explained the coordinator of the immunization program, Cleise Soares.

"These services are taken weekly to all neighborhoods of the capital, as well as to other municipalities in the State, including quilombola communities and indigenous territories. The Government of Pará carries out these actions, which are extremely important to be close to those who often do not have access to these services. We are in all corners of the State offering assistance to the entire population of Pará," added Conceição Cruz, dentist and representative of Sespa.
