The construction of the overpass at Avenida Independência with BR-316 has reached 96% completion. The public facility is being developed by the Metropolitan Transport Management Center (NGTM) to improve mobility and reduce travel time, ensuring greater safety and comfort for the population that needs to use the route daily.

"We are overseeing the final stage of this important facility that will transform urban mobility in the Metropolitan Region. We are in the final stage of paving and will soon implement signage, bringing more safety to users traveling around the Viaduct, Av. Independência, Ananindeua, Marituba, and Belém," explains the State Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Adler Silveira.

A resident of the Metropolitan Region of Belém, forest engineer Marcos Nascimento highlights the importance of the new overpass, especially due to the time people spend in traffic daily. "This work is essential for the traffic in the region; it will reduce the congestion that is routine in this area, in addition to improving access to Av. Independência, easing traffic on BR-316," says Marcos.

Intervention - With vibrant colors from the Amazon environment, the walls of the BR-316 overpass with Avenida Independência, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB), received artistic intervention by muralist and plastic artist Jeferson Cardoso, a native of Pará and resident of Belém.

With 23 years of experience in artistic painting, Jeferson emphasizes that the inspiration for the mural of the new overpass came from Amazonian biodiversity, with stronger and more vibrant tones. The blue-and-yellow macaw and the red macaw are the highlights of the work, which also depicts rivers and scarlet ibises.

"The Amazon is an inspiration; looking in any direction in the city brings us inspiration. It is a great joy to provide the population with such a beautiful painting, done freehand, with a lot of care put into every detail," emphasizes Jeferson.

To create the art, Jeferson invited painter Fernando Barrão, a professional who works in sync with him. "It is a wonderful feeling because we are gifting the city with this beautiful painting; I hope everyone appreciates this art. It is the dream of any artist to do a work of this magnitude," celebrates Jeferson Cardoso.
