Representatives from the State Department of Education (Seduc) and the State Education Council met with students from the Avertano Rocha State Full-Time School in Icoaraci (a district of Belém) to discuss improvements to the physical structure of the educational unit, especially the spaces designated for sports activities and the cafeteria. The moment was also one of strengthening dialogue with the student council within the educational unit.

The meeting took place this week in the school's auditorium, gathering 37 students, including class representatives and members of the Student Council, as well as managers, including those from the Regional Education Directorate (DRE 10 - Belém).

Seduc, managers, and students discussed improvements for the school environment

The students heard the presented demands, such as the need for renovation of the sports court structure, which is currently closed for sports activities and cultural events, as well as the school's cafeteria, which needs new furniture.

Guaranteed demands - After the dialogue with the students, the Deputy Secretary of Articulation of Seduc, Diego Maia, assured that the demands would be met, including the purchase of equipment and other repairs, which will be funded by resources from Prodep (Money in the School Program of Pará).

“This meeting was very important, with the students, through their protagonism, leading this agenda, and also through Seduc, which will carry out the renovation of the court, addressing this demand as quickly as possible so that sports activities can resume. The start of this work is scheduled for the second semester, with a timeframe of two to three months. The smaller demands will be addressed by the School Council, with resources from Prodep. Now, we just have to wait so that we can have Avertano Rocha School even better for the students of Icoaraci,” said Diego Maia.

In the assessment of State Education Councilor Renan Silva, the meeting strengthened the dialogue with the Student Council within the School. “The objective of our meeting was to address the agenda for the renovation of the sports court and the cafeteria space, as well as to strengthen the perspective of inclusion, dialogue, and strengthening of student councils within schools, as it is a unit that already has a formed and institutionalized student council. We had a very positive, very good, and productive meeting. We left with the steps for the revitalization process of the spaces mentioned by the students,” added Renan Silva.

For the president of the Student Council, Sofia Salomão, the visit to the School and the listening to the students were important for the real understanding of the needs of "Avertano Rocha." “In the meeting, we presented all the demands. And all those involved, Student Council, student council, management, and students were very satisfied and happy to know that the needs will be met,” said Sofia Salomão.
