The Civil Police of Pará held a commemorative ceremony for the 149th anniversary of the institution. Directors, advisors, public security authorities, police officers, and administrative staff participated in the event at the Delegada Ione Coelho auditorium, located at the General Delegacy of the Civil Police on Nazaré Avenue in Belém.

“It is a great honor to be part of this celebration of the 149 years of the Civil Police. The greatest desire of the population at the beginning of our management was for public safety, and thanks to these civil servants, we have been able to provide the tranquility that the people of Pará deserve, as today public safety is a source of pride in the State. The Civil Police deserves congratulations on its anniversary, and all these police officers and administrative staff are much more because it is through them that the institution grows and strengthens,” emphasized the state’s vice-governor, Hana Ghassan.

During the ceremony, the position of general delegate was transferred to the new head of the agency, delegate Raimundo Benassuly. “I take on the role of general delegate for the third time and once again I feel honored by the opportunity. I have been working as a delegate for 33 years and, even with all this time, I maintain the sparkle in my eyes and the desire to contribute even more to this institution that is so essential for the safety of the population. I reaffirm my commitment and ask that all my colleagues work in the same way so that the next anniversaries of PCPA are celebrated even more,” pointed out the manager.

On this occasion, civil police officers from the State Directorate for Combating Cyber Crimes and the Division for Suppression and Combat of Organized Crime were awarded the Evanovich Medal for Police Investigation.

There was also the presentation of tribute plaques to the civil servants who stood out in the directorates and sectors that make up the PCPA. “Having my work recognized by my colleagues was very gratifying. I have been with the Civil Police for 11 years, and being able to share this special moment at the ceremony celebrating the 149 years makes me very happy,” said Tatiana Vidal, an administrative staff member who works in the office of the deputy general delegate.
