As a reference in various specialties, including pediatrics, the Regional Public Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, in the southwest of Marajó Island, recorded around a thousand pediatric services in just the first quarter of 2025. With the provision of pediatric services, in addition to Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (ICU), the Regional Public Hospital of Marajó ensures humanized, safe, and quality care for the young users linked to the 8th Regional Health Center (CRS).

Hospitalized child users also benefit from the support of hospital pedagogy and a playful welcoming environment through the Toy Library. Additionally, the Humanization Working Group (GTH) actively contributes with various initiatives throughout the year, reinforcing HRPM's commitment to providing increasingly humanized and welcoming pediatric care.

Initiative – As part of the humanization program, this month, in celebration of Easter, the hospital team carried out a series of playful activities with the hospitalized children, such as distributing sweets and offering special meals for users, companions, and staff, strengthening humanized care and welcoming in the hospital environment.

The action also included the screening of thematic videos about Easter, as well as activities for painting Easter symbols and making decorative crowns, providing a lighter, more welcoming, and meaningful environment for the young users. Furthermore, at the end of the program, a snack was served to the participants.

Approval - Alcilene dos Santos Almeida, 38, accompanies her son, Brasiliano Almeida dos Santos, just 3 years old, at the Regional Hospital of Marajó. The teacher highlights the quality of care received at the unit, stating that everything improved after they secured a spot at HRPM. According to her, the hospital has met her expectations, and the care provided is truly humanized. "Every time we have been here, we have been well received and well cared for. I can only express my gratitude."

Data – Between January and March 2025, HRPM conducted 688 consultations in the pediatrics specialty, 163 surgical procedures for young users, and 110 admissions in the pediatric clinic of the unit.

HRPM is a health unit of the State Government, managed by the National Institute of Social and Human Development (INDSH), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa). The hospital provides medium and high complexity assistance in the southwest Marajoara region and is located at Avenida Rio Branco, No. 1,266, in the center of Breves/PA, in Marajó.
